Own blend drinks at Rockfish
Seafood Coast Gin
To add to our Seafood Coast range of drinks we have collaborated with Devon Distillery and created our own Seafood Coast Gin, flavoured with classic juniper plus thyme, pink peppercorns, fennel, rosemary and lemon it makes a cracking gin and tonic!
Distilled in a copper still that sits on the back of a vintage VW van, operated by Cosmo from Still on the Move, it's a great unique blend of botanicals that partners perfectly with seafood.
Seafood Coast Gin is now available in all of our restaurants and available to buy by the bottle for gifts or have at home too.
Sea Cider is made for us by our friends at Heron Valley. It's made with nothing but real apples and you won't find any sulphites in the mix either.
Heron Valley is a family business, and they have been making award winning organic juices, ciders and soft drinks for nearly 30 years. Their business has grown organically over the past two decades, and is now run and owned by Tasha & Barney Green.
Heron Valley has a very clear plan; they make the best possible drinks, by hand, using only the best ingredients. Their drinks have won a raft of national awards including Gold and Double Gold at the Great Taste Awards, and winners of The Soil Association Organic Food Awards.
Their apples are sourced from their own orchards, and similar growers. They have planted over 2000 apple and pear trees in the past year, and work closely with local bee keepers and the wildlife trust to help create a bee and pollinator friendly environment in all of the orchards. They also farm organically, and only use whole, honest ingredients in their drinks. Their approach is always ‘if in doubt, leave it out...’
You'll find a rnge of Heron Valley products on our drinks list
Seafood Caost Ale
Mitch Tonks and his Rockfish restaurants are at the heart of bringing to a life the vision of England’s Seafood Coast. The vision was simple, that in Devon, we have the best fish in the world caught off this coastline and that Torbay is the firm capital of this Seafood coast with best fishing port in the country central to it, at Brixham. The vision has been supported by English Riviera tourism and Visit England who have pledged funding and launched a project to help establish and kick off this major project. As part of the vision Mitch has created a craft beer called the “Seafood Coast Ale” to celebrate all that is great about the coast. It has been developed by Mitch & the brew team from Salcombe Brewery, which overlooks the sea. The beer contains citra, chinook, Amarillo and challenger hops along with Devon spring water. Mitch describes it as the perfect thirst quencher and just hoppy enough to really bring out the best in plate of the amazing seafood available here.
“I’ve always wanted a beer of our own and I really believe in the vision for establishing England’s Seafood Coast as a destination. When you get to Devon the first thing you need is an ice-cold beer before a plate of the finest local seafood in the world overlooking some of the most wonderful views in the world, you put all that together and you can’t help feeling good about life! It is great to be working with local breweries, local fishermen and the local tourism industry to make the Seafood Coast vision take shape.”
