OCEANS TO EARTH

Set up in 2018 by Rosie and Jake, Oceans to Earth responded to a growing problem with plastic pollution in the Poole Harbour and they work to help keep the harbour clean. Since they began they have held several organised beach cleans, along with their own regular cleaning excursions, and have collected well over a tonne of rubbish including thousands of plastic bottles from a small area of protected coastline. Oceans to Earth was originally kayak based, using the watercraft to access the hard to reach nooks and crannys of Poole Harbour. The Community Interest Company now works with communities, businesses and other organisations within Poole to provide education, run litter picking events, carry out research and find ways to protect the harbour from further contamination.
